Final Major Project Conceptual Stages (01/02/2020)

Tom Vincent

While creating a series on the rampant and highly damaging overdevelopment of the countryside, one piece of criticism presented to me by a peer lead me to question; if not for new housing developments on brown and green land, where else could affordable accommodation be built?

This is the question I aim to answer with my final major project by creating a documentative photo compilation of the many examples of unused and neglected urban land across the country that hold potential to be built upon or remodelled in a way that does not destroy any valuable agricultural land or potential wildlife habitat. I have so far done test shoots in both Manchester and Wigan, Greater Manchester, some samples of which are visible here.
